Fun facts about Julie Halpern...

When she graduated college she moved to Australia

She was an extra in the movie High Fidelity (you can see her walking behind Jack Black and John Cusack in the scene where they see Lisa Bonet sing)

She was an intern on the show The Adventures of Pete and Pete

She made a movie in college that won third place in the Wisconsin Film Festival; the movie was called "I Wanna be a Freak"

Julie's favorite foods are: cheese pizza, broccoli and spinach casserole, and corn

She was once fired from a bookstore where she was a clerk

She has two 5 year-olds, but they are not twins

*She lived at least 20 years of her life in cabins and tipis in the rocky mountains. She didn't have electricity and had to heat her bath water and cooking water on a wood stove.

*Kathleen loves to dance

*She left home at 17 and worked odd jobs for many years, but it was always her dream to be a writer
*She tries to write things that are meaningful and will make a difference in somebody's life

*She now lives in Southern California, is catching up on new technology, and enjoys her life as a writer

and... Secrets and Shadows: a 13 to Life Novel which will be released on 2/15/2011!!!

*Shannon used to be a teacher, but now considers herself a writer and a farmer!

*She raises livestock

*Shannon is from upstate NY!

*13 to Life became a series after a short version of the story won a high honor, and she was approached by a publisher who was interested in taking the characters and making it into a series!

She has worked as a fashion and beauty editor for publications such as: Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, the New York Times, and Marie Claire
