Do you love the library and want to help out in some way? Do you need to volunteer?

The library has two events coming up that we need volunteers to help us.

~On October 18th, we need people to help with our Festival of Storytellers. We will need people to do all sort of things like sit at our registration desk or direct people to classrooms.

~The weekend of October 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th, we are having a book sale at the library. We will need people to help with the sale.

If you want to help out, call the library or stop by and see Dorothy or Elly.

Teen Time

So this summer, you saw a thing on the calendar about "Teen Time". Did you wonder what it was?

Well, this time was designed for you. It was planned as a program for you to come come to the library. During this time there were snacks to eat and games to play.

So now that school is back, you thinking what is the library doing for teens? Well, Teen Time is back!!!

Starting Wednesday October 1st from 4 pm to 5pm, the library will have a time just for you. we will have games and snacks. This time will also be used to plan other events at the library, including some bake sales to help support our trip to this year's Teen Book Festival. (More about that soon!)

Sign up for the first week in the Teen Spot. But remember that this program will continue most Wednesdays this fall so you can always just drop in. Come by and bring some friends. If you have a game you would like play with the group, feel free to bring it! Any questions, stop by and see Dorothy.

Reader's Theater

As a part of the summer reading program at Newark Public Library a group of 8 teens were in the Teen Reader's Theater. Through out the summer we practiced every Wednesday afternoon. On Friday August 22, 2008 we performed in front of family and friends.

Here are some pictures of the program!

Having fun before the show!
